Apathy Is Boring

In the Spring of 2004, while I was a Sauvé Scholar, I co-founded Apathy Is Boring, a national, non-partisan organization to engage young Canadians in democracy using media, art, and technology.

A Canadian federal election was fast approaching and we were depressed by the general apathy of our generation. We launched a sarcastic, celebrity-endorsed "get-out-the-vote" website and national publicity campaign. This captured the attention of the media and youth across the country.

With the help of two sizeable grants, we launched an organization that would provide Canada's youth a year-round series of innovative opportunities and access points to get involved and engaged on their own terms.
